My name is Connor Gilmore, I’m a mastering engineer (and a big lover of all things audio/music) based out of Brooklyn, New York. Gold Sounds Mastering is what has become of my obsession with making music sound great.
I believe every single song has its own potential for sonic and emotional impact and I have spent the past several years training my ears and practicing the techniques needed to bring a song to that full potential. While so much music is being made in an array of different environments (bedrooms, headphones, studios, etc.) I believe the need for a mastering engineer is needed now more than ever. Every song is recorded, produced, and mixed differently; but every song has something magic to it. My job is to make that magic translate in the digital space to the best of its ability.
The value I bring my clients comes from my objective approach sonically (making sure a song will translate well across different listening devices), an accurate and tuned acoustic environment (I can hear what is actually happening in the mix), and my creative skills to maximize the emotional impact of the song. Mastering is not a “dark art” and it’s not just “making the song louder”. It’s a very technical and subtle approach to processing the mix and creating a commercially competitive product (more on this later.)
My process includes both digital and analog processing. Each song is unique and requires a fresh approach. If you want to know more about the gear I use, converters, monitoring, plugins, etc… shoot me an email and we can nerd out!
I love what I do and feel so lucky to be able to work on people’s art everyday. Feel free to reach out anytime! If you want to hear some of my mastering work, the link below will take you to a Spotify playlist of my discography.
I look forward to hearing what you’ve been working on!
- Connor
